The Weeknd ha estat el gran triomfador dels Billboard Music Awards en aconseguir 10 premis, entre els que destaquen el de millor artista o diferents premis per ‘Blinding Lights’.
Per darrera ha quedat el desaparegut Pop Smoke amb 5 guardons, seguit per BTS i Bad Bunny amb 4. Entre la resta de guanyadors trobem Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Kanye West o DaBaby.
La cerimònia ha deixat actuacions musicals de The Weeknd, però també de P!nk, Alicia Keys, Doja Cat amb SZA, Karol G, BTS, Bad Bunny, Duran Duran o DJ Khaled que obria la gala amb H.E.R. i Migos. Jonas Brothers i Marshmello han estat els encarregats de tancar la cerimònia.
